I’m Jessie Green, and I learned to garden the same way most of us did — by killing a lot of plants, feeling weirdly guilty about it, and going back to the nursery anyway.
I didn’t grow up with a green thumb in the family. There was no grandmother’s heirloom tomato patch passed down to me, no early lessons in soil pH or companion planting. It was a few sad pots on an apartment balcony, a lot of “why is this turning yellow” Google searches, and years of trial and error before anything I planted actually survived a full season. That trial-and-error, figure-it-out-as-you-go spirit is baked into everything gardening means to me — and it’s exactly what MyGardenDIY is built on.
